Sesimbra, Arrábida & Setúbal
Sado's estuary as well as wonderful natural landscapes
Known as the most grand and imposing viewpoint in Lisbon, the Cristo Rei is a religious monument, with a sublime panoramic view over the 25 de Abril Bridge and the rest of the city. This will be our first stop.
Located at the foothills of Arrábida sierra and built along a cliff, Sesimbra is an alluring picturesque town, with much to offer. The turquoise bay and the sierra hillside protect this small town, which shelters gentle and friendly people. The visit to the historic centre shall be on foot, so you can make the most of what this land has to offer. You will get the chance to enjoy the view over the Tróia peninsula when you enter Sesimbra's medieval castle, which stands tall over the city.
Between the town of Sesimbra and the city of Setúbal there are two hidden gems we will make known to you: the Espichel cape, an untamed place with a unique charm, and Arrábida National Park, an appealing lush fauna treasure. The powerful scenery of the green earth, the turquoise of the sea and the white limestone of the imposing cliffs make these sites mandatory stop points.
The perfect marriage between the beautiful sierra and the magical sea gave birth to a string of the most gorgeous beaches in Portugal. Our trip through the beach route is a true natural paradise, for all tastes. But before we embark on this adventure, it's time to stop and enjoy a fantastic meal the excellent local gastronomy has to offer.
Founded by a family member of Noah's and birthplace of Bocage, Setúbal is a fishing city with a strong connection to the sea and shall be the last stop on our tour. The heart of the city, where you can find the historic centre, will be explored in a stroll. Here, you will get to know the Livramento market, deemed one of the world's best. This is the perfect place to try the famous sweet Moscatel from Setúbal. Close by, there is also a dolphin colony you can see by boat ride.
Join us on this spectacular trip to Sado's estuary, with plenty of places to discover as well as wonderful natural landscapes that are sure to surprise you.
